Essential oil blend questions
What's the difference between a blend and a single oil?
A single oil is one pure oil on its own; a blend is several pure essential oils combined for a particular purpose - sleep, calm, focus, that sort of thing. We do the balancing so you don't have to guess at ratios. It's the shortcut to a considered aromatherapy blend without building your own.
How do I use the blends?
Exactly like a single oil - a few drops in your diffuser is the simplest way. They also work beautifully diluted into a carrier oil for the skin, or added to a bath. Each blend's page tells you what it's made for so you can match it to your day.
Do I need to dilute them before using on skin?
Yes - like any essential oil, our blends are concentrated and should be diluted in a carrier oil before they touch your skin, then patch tested first. For diffusing, no dilution is needed; just add drops to the water. If you want a skin-ready option with no mixing, look at our roller blends.
Which blend should I choose?
Start with what you're after rather than the ingredients - better sleep, a calmer head, a bit more focus. Each blend is built around one of those, and you can also browse by concern under Shop by Concern. If you're stuck, flick us a message and we'll point you the right way.
Are the blends safe around pets and children?
Same care as any essential oil - some ingredients aren't suitable around cats, dogs or little ones, so diffuse in a well-ventilated room the animal can leave, and check the individual blend if you're unsure. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or using them around children, get advice from a healthcare provider or aromatherapist first.
Can I visit the studio?
You're welcome to and we'd love to meet you! Our Lyall Bay studio is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, and we're happy to open by appointment outside those hours if that suits you better. Come and have a smell in person; it's the best way to choose. Just flick us a message if you'd like to arrange a time outside our usual hours.
Are your products really made in New Zealand?
Yes! Everything is handcrafted in small batches in our studio in Lyall Bay, Wellington. It's a genuine Kiwi maker business, not drop-shipped or mass-produced, and every product is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. Tested on Shannon first, never on animals.
What's your returns policy?
We accept returns within 30 days on unopened items in their original condition - just get in touch and we'll sort it. For hygiene reasons, opened fragrance and skincare can't be returned unless they've arrived faulty or damaged, in which case we'll always make it right. If anything's not as it should be, tell us and we'll fix it.
How much is shipping and how fast is it?
We offer free shipping on orders over $125, with flat-rate delivery under that. Orders are dispatched within one to two business days - same day if you order before 12pm - and then it's in NZ Post's hands from there. You'll get tracking so you can follow it to your door.
